WHAT IS A LEMON DIVA?
Last week on the path, a man saw a sea of yellow shirts coming at him and asked us “What is a Lemon Diva?” Good question. We had a variety of answers, none of which probably made any sense to the poor man who was merely being friendly. So I have been thinking about this, what is a Lemon Diva?
The answer seems complicated, yet not really. A Lemon Diva is a woman who lives her life with the spirit of adventure, style and grace! A woman who knows what to do with life’s lemons and who knows that every time she steps outside of herself and sets a larger than life goal and goes for it, life returns the favor 10 fold.
It is not always about the fastest time or longest run, but for some it may be. It is about what propels you to achieve more and celebrating it with friends.
For Lisa, who told me repeatedly to STOP sending the Lemon Divas emails, “this is great, but I am not ready for it, Good Luck.” Two weeks later, Lisa decided she needed to do something radical in her life. 7 weeks before Sherox, she started training, did the race, loved it and now 2 days ago she finished her 2ndTri. She also just happen to mention, she has hit her stride at work, has already met her 4th quarter goals—yes 4th quarter the one starting on Thursday. Oh yes, radical change!
For Sheila, at 73, a tri might not be the best idea, but in March she decided to attack the book she has wanted to write her whole life, the one that just kept getting pushed to the end of the list... next week the book will be available for sale and she is a published author!
And Laura, who called and said this is great, not for me of course, but can you come on the TV show next week? And you will notice that Laura is leading the Lemon Divas to do the PF Changs ½ marathon. Not only did she complete the Sherox, she is now learning to swim, has moved into a new area of her job, in which she is excelling and has a new love interest. Maybe Lemon Divas can’t take credit for everything, but I am going to keep believing there is something in the lemons! (Not just Vodka)
